Rolling over

Malin is getting to be such a big girl. A couple weeks after she turned 2 months she decided she would roll over from her stomach to her back. They were all accidental. she did it for about a week when finally she did it at least 10 times in half an hour, I was getting so frustrated at her. She would roll over and then get mad, so id have to roll her back on her stomach. Shes figured out how to stop herself from rolling over so she hasnt done it since. Josh didnt get to see her do it all. I almost got a picture of her in action.

Hers her playing with her toy.

And then her on her back wonder what the heck just happened.

Shots

I'll be doing alot of posting with in the next week I have a lot to catchup on. Man I was doing so good for a while.

Well back in September, the 27th to be exact Malin got her shots. Oh boy, I'm not excited to do this again at all. Broke my heart. Malin was so good though. I gave her some Tylenol a half an hour before we went hoping it would help. So we get there we weigh her, she was 11 lbs 4 oz and 24 inches. Shes grown so much she was 8lbs 5 oz when she was born. She was being so happy, just playing on my lap. There was another baby there just a week younger then Malin and she seemed so much younger. She couldnt hold her head up and she just seemed way younger. I dont really notice how strong Malin is till I get around babies her age.

Well we got into the little room and by this time the tylenol kicked in and she was doing the head dip thing where shed almost fall asleep then her head would drop and she'd wake herself up, it was pretty cute... till they stabbed her with 3 needles! Ya she screamed her head off and it was so sad, she was seriously looking at me like why are you letting them do this to me mom. I cried I felt horrible. She only cried for about 1 min then she was so traumatized she zonked right out in my arms and slept for the next 4 hours.

She didnt really get to many side affects. She was unusually very easy to upset for about a week after, but for the most part she was our smiling cute little girl, just a little more snuggly then before, which who doesnt love that.

Heres some cute pictures, cuz thats really the only reason people read blogs... well thats usually the only reason I read them anyways.

Oh the Future

You know i'm really excited for the future. I'm excited for Josh to be done school, have our own house, to see my family grow, and other things. I'll tell you what i'm not excited for. Malin to grow up. Now you may think this is cute. How I love my little girl, and shes just so cute I don't want her to grow up so she can stay little and mine fore ever... well this is true. BUT the real reason I don't want her to grow up is because i'm scared of what her attitude is going to be!!! Imagine a 2 year old Malin... I dont really want to imagine.
Malin is a Drama queen. And if you hang around her for more then a couple hours you will soon realize this is true. We have been told from many people we have a diva, a drama queen, etc on our hands. Malin knows EXACTLY what she wants, and she'll get it. Last night we could not figure out what it was she wanted. She was playing in her jumparoo happy as can be when BAM! hysterically crying. She didnt hurt herself she wasnt hungry just started crying. That was at 3... she didnt stop crying till 8, and when I say cry I mean bawling bloody murder. She did have 2 short 30 min naps somewhere in there. By this point she was beyond tiered which is THe only reason I think she stopped crying. She was delusional. She was bug eyed and smiled and laughed at her mirror friend above her swing till 11. Another time she freaked out for no reason and bawled big crocodile tears for a good 10 min till I figured out she wanted her socks off. The second they were off nothing, tears gone and there was a smile on her face. These are just a couple examples.
So I now find myself dreading the future of when Malin learns how to talk. I'm hoping that maybe once she can talk she can just tell us what she wants so she wont get so frustrated and freak out on us... but I wont get my hopes up.
Its a good thing shes cute.

Barnwell

I MISS BARNWELL!!!! You know I didn't think I could love anywhere more then Raymond. I confess I might love Barnwell more. Don't get me wrong I still LOVE Raymond, but when I think of Barnwell I think of home. When I think of Raymond I think of where my parents live.
Why do I love Barnwell? Whats not to love. Its a small town which I most definitely prefer, BUT its only 5 min away from Taber which has everything I might need. A walmart, fast foods, grocery stores, etc. Its almost like living in a city but better cuz ur living in a town!!!! haha if that makes sense.
The ward is awesome. I felt completely welcomed and at home the first week I went. You get to know everyone cuz there is only one ward, one HUGE ward so it takes a while. But once you know your ward you know the whole town! You cant even go for a walk with out someone driving, biking, or walking by stopping you to talk.
I had alot of friends there!! who I miss. I think I had more close friends there then I have anywhere else. People are just too stinking friendly there.
In the summer u'll get a random call and the guys will go play soft ball or some other sport and the girls will just hang out and talk! play with the kids at the park! and just have fun.
You get to see the parade TWICE! cuz once isnt good enough it goes by twice so u get a good look haha.
I'm not afraid to leave my door unlocked, or walk out side at night.
You can walk from one side of the town to the other in probably 15 min... u know I dont really know where it starts and ends so maybe it would take longer haha.
It has some really pretty houses, and more are being built!! its growing.
and a million other reasons I'm sure but I have a screaming baby. To wrap it up. Barnwell rocks and Edmonton sux... well Barnwell is just better. Cant wait to go back.

Mirage

Strangely enough Malin has been THE best baby lately. She slept for 12 hours last night only waking up once to eat. She's sleeping pretty much all day and when shes not sleeping shes snuggling or just chilling out in her swing. She's stopped having hysterical bawling fits and traded them for whimpering. And also stoped crying half as much as usual. I have to remind her to eat instead of her begging me to eat every 2 hours. Shes still smiling. Isnt as chatty as usual (which gets annoying (as cute as it is) when were trying to watch a movie and shes over in her chair blowing bubbles and babbling on). Shes just been so good.
Well i'm not happy one bit about these changes and i'll tell you why. She SICK!!! Poor Malin it breaks my heart, i dont think shes too sick cuz she still seems to be pretty happy but its sad. Most people would think shes an amazing baby but really I know shes just slept for 12 hours at night and most of the day, (I really think she was only up for maybe 4 hours during the day yesterday), Because shes sick and needs sleep to recover. I know the only reason she chills in her swing instead of kicking her legs like crazy, and talking to herself in the mirrior above, and pushing her blanket off, is because she exhausted (even though all she does is sleep) and cant manage to do anything but lay in the swing. I love that shes a snuggler right now, and i'll give her all the snuggles she wants!! I slept in her room last night just incase she needed me... which she didnt she slept all night haha. This just isnt our usual little girl. Malin can go from smiling to 2 seconds later screaming her face off, and she wont stop till she gets what she wants. there is no happy medium with her she doesnt start of wimpering and then gradually gets louder, nope she'll just scream like shes dying. We call her the drama queen. But she knows what she wants and wont stop till she gets it. I'm sure she's going to be very successful in life, I can all ready tell shes going to be very passionate about everything. Its just a little cold and really the worst part about it is shes just so stuffed up she cant really breathe. I put her in her car seat to sleep last night and bought her some saline drops and a humidifier and that seemed to help. But i cant lay her on her back or all she does is cough and gag on her stuffyness. She hasnt had a fever yet so i'm not to worried.
I have no idea what i'm going to do when she really gets sick, and just feels miserable, a cold is hard enough, i just want to hold her and kiss her and make her feel better as it is. She seems to be doing a lot better today. She's still sleeping probably 18- 20 hours out of the day but she seems to be more active when shes awake. The only thing thats really bothering me is that shes not eating as much as she usually does. She doesnt seem to want to eat. 4 hours will go by and then i'll realize she hasnt eaten in a while so i'll feed her and she'll only eat half of one side. where as shes usually wanting to eat every 2-3 hours and eats on both sides. The nurse told me if her soft spot is caved in shes dehydrated, and its been pretty good so she must be getting enough and shes still pooping but it seems weird to me that shes cutting back on what she eats, or do they just eat less when they get older i have no idea.
I was the one that got sick in the first place so it was nice of Malin to wait till i got over the worst of my cold before she got sick, but stinks that she got sick i thought i had gotten lucky and hadnt passed it on to Malin but sure enough wednesday night she was stuffy as could be!
Well thats whats been happing to us since Monday. I was sick till around wednesday, fever, stuffed, feeling like crap, then Malin got sick wednesday. Josh is just stuffy no sickness on his part.
Josh is doing really good in school hes really enjoying it. Maybe i'll get him to do a blog about it since i dont really know anything about it other then he has to learn alot and has test like every day, and really long labs where he makes things, haha.
This first picture is one i took of malin today in her chair then the rest are just updates of her. Enjoy!!!!

Time flies!

Wow it has almost been 2 months since my lil Malin has been born. Its crazy, I just look at her and wonder how shes grown so fast. I told myself when I was pregnant I was going to be the best blogger and record all of her cute lil achievements... well you all know how thats been. Boy is it alot more work then I thought it would be. I knew babies slept lots so I just figured when she was sleeping I would have all this time to clean the house, blog, bake and be a good lil house wife. Ya no i'm exhausted all the time. I take at least 2 naps a day. And then when shes awake shes just to darn cute to not play with and hold. So here are some of her achievements so far.
She has always been so good at holding her head up, ever since she was little she wasnt one to have a wobbly head. since she was about 1 month shes been able to hold it up with out help when you helped her stand. and now just a lil before 2 months when shes on her tummy she can completely lift it off the ground and look around for a good 10 seconds before she flops it back down.
When she was just new new after she was done eating she would stop sucking sigh and put her head on top of my chest and have a lil snooze. It was so stinken cute. Sometimes she just needed a 30 sec nap then shed start eating again.
She use to hate her bath, shed scream bloody murder through the whole thing, now she screams bloody murder when we take her out of her bath. She also loves showers!!!
She loves to stand. since she was about 3 weeks she been wanting help standing, and now she is just amazing at it. she can stand ( with help of coarse ) for ever! we'll even dance with her when shes standing and she loves it.
She is a smiling machine!! shes smiled ever since she was as little as a week. And no I dont think its just gas. At first it was probably not intentional on her part but after she was a month we could talk to her and tickle her lil chin and she would start smiling. She had her first laugh the day we moved to edmonton! it was so stinking cute. I could tell she had been trying to laugh the whole week before. Now she laughs all the time and both me and Joshua cant help but just stare and tell each other shes the cutest lil baby in the whole world everytime she laughs or smile, she just melts our hearts.
When you put her in her swing she looks up at the mirror and just smiles and laughs and talks to her self. She talks so much now. As soon as she wakes up from her nap if shes not hungry she smiles and talks to you till she gets tiered again.
Shes never really cried for longer then 20 min. Shes usually a pretty good baby. She has her moments but in all shes really quite happy. I can always tell when shes tiered cuz she'll be laughing one moment and then bawling the next.
She is a bit of a drama queen. its hard to explain but shes deff a girl!!!! shes got this cute lil whine she does all the time, and she'll just explode on you. Theres no gradual clilme she just screams. I call her the princess and the Pea because her sleeping conditions have to be just right. She will toss and turn and grunt and wiggle until she is completely comfortable. she has to have her soft blanket just right over her face.
When she was super little she LOVED being swaddled only way we could keep her happy. Now she has to have her hands by her face which is annoying cuz she always whacks her soother out.
She rarely pukes and I love her for that!!!
She is just the cutest little girl in the whole world and I love her and I love talking about her.
Being a mom is way different then I thought it would be. I love being a mom I just underestimated the way I would feel about my little cutie. I now go to the mall and find myself looking for deals for her instead of myself. I'm exhausted all the time but dont really care! I hate getting up in the middle of the night but love the bond I have with Malin when I feed her. I miss my old body soooooooo much!! and get depressed over it everyonce in a while, then I see her smile at me or stop crying when someone gives her back to me and I know it was way worth it. I'm all ready finding myslef thinking i could have another one in the next near future... we'll just have to work on Joshua haha.
All in all i love being a mom I love Malin, and I love the changes that have happened to my family since her arrival.
I'll have to post pictures later, its not letting me fore some reason.
As soon as i take pictures of the house I'll post about our new home in Edmonton.

Malin Pretoria Andersons BIG day!

Sorry this is a little longer then i was planning.

Well it all started at 5:00AM Wednesday.( I was 10 days over due and had to get induced.) ! this is when we got up, we had to be in Lethbridge by 6:45. An early start to our LONG day.

Here we are on our way to the hospital.

We got to the hospital on time and it then hit us... where do we park. Maybe this is a question we should have asked before, or well. So we just parked in the 2 hour parking spot, only to learn we had to park on the hospital property and we'd be all good. There were TONS of spots open when we got there, but by the time we found this out there was no where to park!! so Josh had to leave every 2 hours for the first 6 hours till he finally found a spot. ANYWAYS. We got to the hospital and they started me on the gel.

Here I am looking mighty fine in my gown... i'm sure i'll regret these pictures later.

They put me on the Gel and 7:00 AM, i was ZERO cm dilated. ZERO!! Contractions were not near as bad as i was expecting from all the horror stories ive heard of getting induced. They were pretty much just really painful Braxton Hicks. So not bad at all.
So 6 hours later the doctor comes in to check me and i'm now 1 1/2 Cm. I guess thats better the 0. My doctor decided to break my water at this point. That was an interesting experience. and THAT is when the contractions started. at first just a little more painfull then on the gell... then about 15 min later they really sucked. An hour after my water broke not a thing. Still 1 1/2 cm. So they moved me to the delivery room.
While i was waiting for them to start me on the drip i spent my time in the shower. That was a life savor. i really wish i didnt have to go on the drip and could spend more time in there.
So at 2:30 they started me on the drip, and this is where it really started to suck. Contractions were nothing what i was expecting. strangely enough it was my back i was complaining the most about, i was not expecting that. Josh's job was to let me know when the contractions were starting to go down. After a couple hours of pain, i think it was around 5 i decided maybe id like to try some drugs. They gave me some morphine( dont think i spelt that right) that did nothing but make me high. felt the same amount of pain except inbetween contractions id drift in and out of sleep slash slur weird sentences to josh. it was an interesting experience. by 7 Pm... 12 hours after ive be induced... my doctor checked me. Surprise Surprise STILL! 1 1/2 cm. this was not the most exciting news and i got a lil bit upset. My contractions were getting more and more on top of each other and longer and more painful. they werent quite to the point where i had had enough. i'm sure i could have dont a couple more hours but the fact that i wasnt progressing wasnt helping. My nurse told me i wasnt going to progress any more if they didnt increase the drip but they couldnt increas the drip because it would put stress on the baby. There was someone else getting an epideral soon and if i wanted i could get one and then they would be able to increase the drip... so i got an epideral. I was wanting to try with out but at the same time i didnt know what it would be so i was open to having one if means be. so i got an epideral. which i'm kinda glad i did cuz when i got my C section i was able to be awake instead of having to be knocked out cuz it was an emergency C section.
By 10ish i was fully dilated!! about time. they waited close to an hour longer to help the baby drop by herself a little more. My doctor checked me a lil later and said the baby was so close she couldnt even get her second knuckle in. so i got to start pushing!!!! YAY!!!!! WELL people really need to fill first timers in on everything. who knew pushing could be SO exhausting. I pushed for 2 and 1/2 hours. by the end i was pretty much falling asleep inbetween pushes it was crazy!!! about an hour in i starting thinking something was wrong. My nurse kept bring in different people and pointing things out on the monitor and asking them questions that i couldnt hear. After the gazillienth time of taking my temperature she finally told me i had a fever. i kept asking if things were ok and she kept saying yes. and i kept telling her i did NOT want a C section. Pretty sure i told her this every 5 min. Josh told me after i kept repeating things and asking the same questions over and over again... i was pretty high at this point. dont think i'll ever get morphine again! anyways i kept saying i didnt want a C-section and she kept telling me i woudlnt have to and to keep pushing. at one point i'm pretty sure i remember telling her she wasnt very convincing, or maybe i just thought it. after an hour of pushing, she called for the doctor. but he was at home so it took him for ever to get there. so i just kept on pushing the whole time it took for him to get there. after 2 and 1/2 hours of pushing he finally gets there looks at me for all of 5 seconds pretty much and says i had to get a C-section. I had a high fever. the babies heart rate was dropping and mine was rising.
I burst in to hysterical tears and started begging him not to make me have a c section. I begged him to try suctioning or anything. but he said my pelvic was shaped weird and that the baby was just to big for me and it was to dangerous for me and the baby. It pretty much sucked i did not want a c section that was the one thing i did not want. i was open to an epideral, i was open to anything except a c section. Pretty much i didnt stop bawling till i was on the table getting ready to be sliced open. would have been a little nice if the nurse had prepared me and told me it might be a possibility that id have to have a c section!!!
Anyways we were in to big of a rush and josh was to busy trying to help me calm down to even think about bring a camera into the room. like i said earlier since i had an epideral all ready i was allowed to be awake. they just gave me more drugs to numb me more. that was weird. i coudlnt move at all. i remember thinking i have no idea how i'm going to get from this bed to the table. but they just lifted me. i dont really remember much after this. i was high exhausted and upset. i dont really remember josh being in the room i dont really know what went on. all i remember is i heard a cry and then i saw my little Malin on my chest with her little lip quivering. She was the most beautiful little girl ive ever seen. and once again i started crying. But i was so out of it and so exhausted i couldnt hold her so i asked her to take her off me which made me start crying again cuz i was so mad i had to get a c section and that i was so tired i coudlnt even hold my little girl. She was born at 2 32 AM on thursday i think.
Josh got to go with Malin and i had to go to recovery. Recovery sucked i hate those nurses they're so mean!! they kept giving me morphine even though i kept telling them i didnt want it. and they pressed on my stomach so hard!! i know they had to but they were not gentle or nice about anything!!!!!! after an hour they finally rolled me back to the room we would be staying in. Josh and Malin came in about 30 min later. it was a couple hours after that i could actually try and feed her i was just so tiered i was afraid i would drop her if i tried to hold her and my stomach hurt so bad. once again no one warned be about the recovery!!!! i thought id have the baby and feel great after! NOPE!
Well me and josh were just inlove!! she was so gorgeous and really a good baby. i think the longest she cried for at the hospital was 15 min. other then that shed cry then stop as soon as i held her or fed her. shes latched on great!! and was just really an amazing baby!!!

This is the first picture we got of her. It was prob around 5 hours after she was born.

So we arrived at the hospital a little before 7am Wednesday July 7th induced at 7AM and Malin was born Thursday July 8th at 2 32 AM. and left the hospital Sunday at noon.

All in all the labor part wasnt as bad as i was expecting. I had some dissapointments but shes safe and growing and thats all the matters. Wasnt quite the experience i was expecting but i Love Malin more then anything. Next time i will most deffiently try to have a vaginal birth and wont let my doctor let me go over due!!! i also think i'll try with out an epideral as well. as long as i'm progressing that is.

Also josh was absoultly amazing during the whole thing. I love him so much and coudlnt have done it with out him. I think it was just as hard on him as it was on me in a different way. he was there the whole time for me and did anything i asked for! I coudlnt imagine being married to anyone else. hes the best husband ever. He is amazing with Malin and it is so cute! he is one of the best dads out there and i can all ready tell Malin loves her daddy.

Here are some picture of our precious little girl.
